Butterflies & Caterpillars🐛🦋

Hey teacher friends!

We have some very exciting new “class pets” in our room this week… caterpillars! 🐛 My students are already SO invested in watching them grow, and we’ll be observing the full life cycle before releasing them as butterflies. There’s just something so special about experiencing that transformation in real time!

If you’re doing a butterfly unit (or want an easy way to bring a little spring learning into your classroom), I wanted to share a few of my favorite resources:

🦋 Butterfly Life Cycle + Observation Activities Perfect for guiding students through each stage of the life cycle while giving them structured ways to observe and document what they see.

​🐛 “How to Make Friends with a Caterpillar” Writing Prompt Such a fun and creative way to tie writing into your science unit—my students always come up with the cutest ideas!

​🌷 Spring Positional Words Activities A great hands-on way to reinforce positional words while keeping with a fun spring theme.

All of these are low-prep and engaging, which is a must this time of year 💛

✨ In My Classroom This Week: We’re continuing to focus on routines and expectations as we head into the final stretch of the school year (because the spring energy is real 😅), while weaving in some fun, hands-on learning like our caterpillar observations.
